The Guild Wars 2 Beta was recently released to select press members who were given 48 hours to play the game before a media embargo lifted on Monday. As a result, YouTube now has various Guild Wars 2 videos from YouTubers like The Yogscast and TotalBiscuit.

Now it can be your turn to play the beta, and all you have to do to be get a chance of playing the game is to sign up at the beta website. You will need to install a piece of software from ArenaNet which will scan your PC and send your specs (GPU, HDD space, amount of porn on HDD, etc.) to ArenaNet.

After that, you will need to insert some details about yourself and the games you play, then you’re done. ArenaNet have not specified how many people will be invited to this beta phase, however, and no one is guaranteed a place, so good luck.

The game will be released on the 18th of September 2012, but the trailer does not specify if this date is just for North American consumers or if it applies to Europe as well.

The trailer features several of the launch PS Vita games, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Fifa Football and WipEout 2048.

Mass Effect 3 is set to be released on the 6th March 1012 for the US and comes to Europe on the 9th March 2012.

UberHaxorNova has a playlist of videos like the one above, and I couldn’t decide whether to feature this one or equally hilarious ‘Repair‘. The video features Nova and his friend Sp00n playing a Minecraft adventure map, but Nova’s experience is disrupted by a piece of blue dye.

Man vs. Katamari

Freddie Wong posts a new video every week, and the quality is amazing. This one pays homage to Katamari and shows you never to under-estimate a tiny many with a big ball. Interesting, Wong also releases a behind the scenes video for every video he does, showing you exactly how they made it.

If you already own any of these games on PS3, then they will be free to download and play on your Vita and vice versa. This compliments the Vita’s ability to compete against others on different platforms, enabling those on PS3 to play others on Vita.

During a call with their investors, Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot announced the next installment of the Assassins Creed franchise will hit this year on October 30th, but they have given no other details of it at this stage.

Xbox360Achievements.org has published more achievements for Assassins Creed Revelations, hinting at more single player DLC in the near future.

GameInformer also suggests that retailers around the world are stocking the item; Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Ottoman Edition. They claim that it will include the full game of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations as well as all the DLC’s released so far, they say it could be like a Game of the Year Edition.

The trailer follows 3 people as they explore an uncharted island which seems to be inhabited by a group of psychos. The man from the E3 reveal trailer makes another appearence, giving the impression that he is the main antagonist.

The news comes from a video made by the Mojang team, which you can watch below. The game will be made in 60 hours by the Mojang team, and when it is finished it will be included in a new Humble Bundle. Best of all, you can help choose the theme and genre of the game by going over to their blog post about the Mojam.

My personal favourite option on the poll is ‘Peter Molyneux’. The game will be made this weekend, so you don’t have long to choose.

EA has released the Mass Effect demo for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC (on Origin), aiming to get newcomers to the franchise interested as well as Mass Effect veterans.

In the demo, players can choose to experience the game in either ‘Action’, ‘Story’ or ‘Role Playing’. ‘Action’ allows players to focus mainly on combat ‘giving them the opportunity to pre-set the tone of decisions made during the interactive cinematic scenes’. ‘Story’ focuses more on the conversations of the cut-scenes, reducing the dificulty of the combat and making storytelling a larger proportion of the game. ‘Role Playing’ is a mix of the two, blending complex storytelling with action and being closer to the traditional feel of Mass Effect games.

These settings can be adjusted throughout the game giving you freedom to experiment with what you find enjoyable.

Mass Effect 3 is also to be one of the first games to use Kinect’s voice recognition functionality allowing you to ‘tell’ characters your different conversation choices in the cut-scenes. (For those for are unfamilier, in cut-scenes you have the choice to respond how you wish to other characters comments, for example responding with either ‘No! We stick together!’ or ‘I understand you have to stay.’

The Mass Effect 3 demo also brings multiplayer. The Galaxy at War System allows players to link progress in multiplayer to the campaign in order to help save the galaxy. A co-op section of the demo will be available to all on February 17th, but players who have activated their Battlefield 3 online pass can play co-op straight away.
